WJJF – WIGAN is affiliated to the World Ju-Jitsu Federation UK. Ju-Jitsu is a great way to increase fitness and confidence and also learn how to defend yourself
Ju-Jitsu not only covers self-defence techniques, it also links in with Kobudō (traditional Japanese weapons training) & Hojōjutsu (the traditional Japanese art of restraining with the rope).
Newcomers are always welcome to attend our training sessions. Lessons mostly include joint locks, throws, takedowns, strikes, punches, kicks (including spinning & Jumping Kicks), chokes & Kata. If you are new to the club then we recommend loose fitting clothing, we usually train in bare feet so no shoes/trainers are required & the first lesson is free!
Training sessions take place at: Abram Community Centre, Vicarage Road, Abram, Wigan, WN2 5QX

Great club
I have been training with this club for a few years now. When I started I didn’t know anyone or anything about traditional ju jitsu. Made to feel very welcome and you progress at a rate you are comfortable with.
Friendly Club
I love this club. I have really learnt loads. The senseis are really friendly and helpful. Very patient!!! We sometimes do interest work, which is fun, and is a change from doing work towards your belt. We have a laugh, but work hard! I can recommend it. Come along, and learn how to defend yourself.

I love the experience I get at this club. The club coach really goes into detail of the techniques and provides a bit of history while doing it. All the students and teachers are super nice and everyone is so supportive! I will definitely be going again (because I have to)
